SB510E35 Resins For PVC Plastisol Thin-Film Adhesion At Low Temperatures
This application bulletin discusses Sarbox® SB510E35 as a reactive plasticizer for peroxide-cured PVC plastisol coatings which provides: • Excellent thin-film adhesion to electrocoated steel • Improved plastisol coating mechanical properties Conventional automotive PVC plastisol coatings and sealants require both adhesion to electrocoated steel and increased mechanical properties at light coating weights and low curing temperatures. Sarbox SB510E35 contains carboxylic acid groups throughout their structures which chemically etch metal substrates to provide adhesion. They also have ester functionality which produces crosslinks that provide hardness and strength.
